Backend Split App Support
Welcome to the official support page for the Backend Split app. Below you’ll find troubleshooting steps, common user issues, and instructions on how to resolve them.
1. Getting Started
Once installed, open the app and enter your session name. This will create or load an existing data session from Firebase.
2. Common Issues and Fixes
⚠️ Problem: App Shows Blank Screen
- Ensure your internet connection is stable.
- Make sure Firebase is properly configured and the app has permission to access the internet.
- Try restarting the app or device.
⚠️ Problem: Data is not saving
- Check that you’ve entered a valid session name.
- Make sure all participant fields are filled before saving.
- Verify you are logged in (anonymously or otherwise). The app signs in anonymously if no user is detected.
⚠️ Problem: UI is distorted or overlapping
- This may occur on smaller screens. Try rotating your device to landscape.
- Ensure you are using the latest version of the app.
3. Features Overview
- Session Name: Unique identifier for your payout data set. Use the same name to reopen a session.
- Total Streaming Payout: The total amount received from a platform (e.g., Netflix, Hulu).
- Participants: Add names and backend percentages. Ensure total does not exceed 100%.
- Breakdown: Displays individual payouts and remaining amount to be distributed.
4. Firebase Sync
All session data is stored in Firebase Firestore. Data is auto-saved when changes occur. On first launch, the app uses Firebase Anonymous Authentication to secure access.
